OPEN AUDITIONS: 

The Legend of Georgia McBride

"The Legend of Georgia McBride" is a comedy with music and dancing about a struggling Elvis impersonator who finds unexpected success as a drag queen.

Auditions will be held on February 2, 3, and 4 — at a different location each day:

  • Sunday, February 2, 2:00 p.m.
    held at The Basement
    541 3rd Avenue

  • Monday, February 3, 6:30 p.m.
    held at Hap Ryder Riverfront Theatre (Fairbanks Drama Association)
    1852 2nd Avenue

  • Tuesday, February 4, 6:30 p.m.
    held at Corinthian Baptist Church
    1679 23rd Avenue

Please wear comfortable shoes and loose/flexible clothing.

Available Roles:

CASEY, male, 25-30, white-presenting. Loves country music and is a passionate Elvis impersonator. His passion doesn't pay well, so money is tight. Married to JO. (THIS ROLE HAS ALREADY BEEN CAST.)

JO, female, 25-30, African American (may be Afro-Latino). Married to CASEY. A hard-working waitress, the responsible one in the marriage. Newly pregnant, and worried about how they'll pay the bills.

MISS TRACY MILLS (BOBBY), male, 40s-50s, any ethnicity (drag experience preferred). An experienced, wise, and sharp-tongued drag queen. The elder performing partner of REXY and a mentor to CASEY. She appears in one scene out of drag as BOBBY.

REXY/JASON, male, 20s-30s, any ethnicity (drag experience preferred). The junior performing partner to TRACY. A hot mess of problems, but also fiercely proud of the drag life. The actor doubles as JASON, the friend and landlord of CASEY and JO.

EDDIE, male, 50s-60s, any ethnicity. The owner and emcee of Cleo's Bar in Panama City Beach.

THE "CREW" (non-speaking), 4 to 6 people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. They appear in drag and in character, and help CASEY with on-stage costume and makeup changes.

The 200 individuals that will become Mortgage Makers during the calendar year 2022 will sustain and enable our mission to teach, produce, support, and present quality performances and educational programs for our community.
